Perdiempick: Per Diem Rates
Look up federal GSA per diem lodging and M&IE rates by city, ZIP or county and date, with 75% travel days and trip totals, in Google Sheets.
What it does
Perdiempick fills an expense or travel sheet with the federal per diem rates for each place and date.
- Lodging (per night) and M&IE (meals and incidental expenses, per day) for a city and state, a ZIP code or a county, for the travel date (fiscal-year and season aware).
- The 75% M&IE for the first and last day of travel, and a trip total when the row has an end date.
- The per diem area each row matched (or "standard rate"), the fiscal year, and notes when a place is ambiguous.
- Finds Location, City, State, ZIP, County, Date/Start and End/Return columns by their headers; without a header it reads location, date, end date in order.
For travel managers, grant and contract staff, and anyone filling in a federal travel claim.
- Data: GSA's FY2026 and FY2027 per diem files for the 48 contiguous states and DC (no Alaska, Hawaii, territories or foreign rates).

How to use it
- Install Perdiempick: Per Diem Rates from the Google Workspace Marketplace (in Google Sheets: Extensions › Add-ons › Get add-ons, then search for Perdiempick).
- In your spreadsheet, choose Extensions › Perdiempick: Per Diem Rates › Open Perdiempick. The sidebar opens on the right.
- Select a location column ("Boston, MA", a ZIP code, or "Suffolk County, MA"), with a travel date column and, for a trip total, an end date column (or City and State columns). You get lodging, M&IE, the first/last-day M&IE and the trip total in new columns. GSA rates for the 48 states and DC; not affiliated with GSA. Check gsa.gov/perdiem before you reimburse.
- Press Look up per diem rates in the sidebar, or choose Extensions › Perdiempick: Per Diem Rates › Look up per diem for selected rows.
- The new columns: Lodging (per night), M&IE (per day), Max per diem, First/last day M&IE, Trip total, Per diem area, Fiscal year, Notes. Nothing in your own columns is changed.
- Bought a license? Choose Extensions › Perdiempick: Per Diem Rates › License key and paste it in (the Show button reveals what you typed).
Pricing
- Free plan: 25 lookups a month. No account or sign-up. When they're used up, the add-on says so, and the free lookups come back on the 1st of the next month.
- Unlimited plan: 24 USD a year, a yearly license bought on Gumroad. Paste the license key in the add-on's sidebar (Extensions › Perdiempick: Per Diem Rates › License key). A fair-use limit of 20,000 rows a day applies.
Refunds: ask within 14 days of your first payment for a full refund ([email protected] or your Gumroad receipt). Renewals aren't refunded; cancel any time before your renewal date in your Gumroad library.
Permissions, in plain words
When you install Perdiempick, Google asks you to allow three things:
- spreadsheets.currentonly: See and change only the spreadsheet you open the add-on in, so it can read the cells you select and write its results in new columns. It can't open, list or read any of your other files.
- script.container.ui: Show its menu under Extensions and its sidebar inside Google Sheets.
- script.external_request: Connect to one outside address, sheets-api.fitztoppicks.com (our own service), to check the free allowance and the license and, for most add-ons, to answer the rows you run. Google Sheets only lets the add-on call that one address.
That's all. It never sees your email address, contacts, Gmail or other Drive files, and the only outside address it calls is sheets-api.fitztoppicks.com.
Privacy
- The locations and dates in the rows you run are sent over HTTPS to sheets-api.fitztoppicks.com only to answer them, and are never stored.
- To count the free allowance, our service keeps only scrambled codes (keyed hashes) and numbers: never your email address, your name or the text of your cells.
- Your license key is saved in your own Google account's settings for the add-on, and checked with Gumroad, where you bought it.
- No ads, no trackers, nothing sold or shared.
