GameCube model numbers: which one do you have?
Where the model number is
Turn the console over: the model number is on the label underneath, usually next to the serial number.
How to read it
Consoles read DOL-001 (early) or DOL-101 (from May 2004). Other DOL- codes are controllers and accessories.

DOL-001
Label: DOL-001 · Made 2001–2004
What's different: The early model. It has the Digital AV port (used by component cables on NTSC consoles) and a second serial port underneath. Its power adapter is rated 46 W.
Parts and cables: Component cables need the Digital AV port, so they only work on DOL-001; look for listings that name it.

DOL-101
Label: DOL-101 · Made 2004–2007
What's different: The 2004 revision. The Digital AV port and the second serial port were removed, so component video isn't possible without modification. Its power adapter is rated 48 W.
Parts and cables: Component cables won't work on DOL-101; use composite or S-Video (NTSC) cables, or listings made for this model.

Before you buy, check that the listing names your exact model number and that its photos match your console. The notes here are general guidance written by us, not a promise that a part fits.
